NO ROOSTER GUARANTEE: At Bluestone Hatchery, we sex chicks very carefully in small quantities. DO NOT BUY STRAIGHT-RUN.  If you only want pullets, you get pullets. Stop Buying from breeders that want to "unload" a bunch of roosters on you. You are devaluing your money. If we make a mistake, return the rooster and we will give you another pullet.

We have 50 starter birds priced at $20 or more depending on age;

Breeds are White Leghorns, Barred Rocks, Mars Bars Dark Olive Eggers, Blue Egg Layers, Mystic Onyx, Sapphire Gems. These birds are cheaper because I need to make room for other breeding projects.

We have 12 grow outs available for $30 or more depending on age;

Breeds are White Leghorns, Mars Bars (Dark Olive Eggers), Blue Egg Layers, Rhode Island Reds, Rhode Island Blacks.

We have 4 young purebred laying hens available for $200 each. HATCHED and RAISED on our farm. These Laying Hens are not being used in our breeding programs so we are selling them off. They are in their prime. Great for those starting out with the financial means of skipping the arduous task of raising a chicken to the egg laying stage. These hens are expensive because I spent a lot of money making them and raising them to the laying egg stage. I have to pay for my feed and electricity. My chickens are bougie!!!

WE CROSS BREED FOR VIGOROUS PERFORMANCE

By Crossing the genetics of two different chicken breeds, we can create a healthier chicken that lays more eggs, more often, and even make their egg shell color change to Blue, Green, and Pink.

All of our Hybrid-Vigor Crosses are bred for a specific purpose using Purebred Roosters/Hens.

1. To make them lay more eggs/more often/more consistent than the purebred parents.

2. To change the color of the egg shell from White to Blue, Blue to Green, Green to Dark Green, Dark Green to Speckled Dark Green, or Dark Brown to Speckled Dark Brown.

3. Make them easily sexable as soon as they hatch.

SUPER BLUE EGG LAYERS

Self Blue Ameraucana Rooster crossed with White Leghorn Hen. Their offspring will lay large blue eggs.

Crested Cream Legbar Crosses

Their offspring (Hen) will be a lustrous iridescent green plumage (the feathers change color or brightness depending on the angle of light. This cross will lay more eggs yearly than Rhode Island Reds per yearly average and the rooster/hen pair are beautiful together.

BLACK SEX LINKS

The males are black and have a single white dot at the top of their head. They are beautiful and great layers which lay more eggs yearly than their parent's yearly average.

OUR PRCES ARE SIMPLE, TRANSPARENT AND FAIR WHICH REFLECT OUR EFFORT vs YOUR EFFORT.

$40 for a 12-count of premium hatching eggs.

$5 for a sexed pullet (girl).

$200 for a laying hen. *Worth it if you do not want to wait 6-12 months to collect eggs!!!

$10 for a 30-count of pasture-raised eating eggs.

$10 per month to raise them for you.

This is an amazing deal for you to "CUT THRU THE RED TAPE" and collect eggs sooner! I have a variety of 1 month olds for $10, 2 month olds for $20, 3 month olds for $30...and so on. In order to keep providing this service, I must charge at least $10 per month to recoup my feed, supplements, and electricity. I have crunched the numbers and if I charge any less, I will be paying you to take the chicken. I assure you that paying the $10 per month is cheaper and a lot easier for everyone, but most especially for beginners or those that want EGGS IMMEDIATELY! Full Transparency: As a Breeder that wants to provide the best chickens, This is the most humane way of "CULLING" chickens! I hatch 50 pullets and keep the best 10. Once they fully feathered out I keep the best 3 to advance my Hybrid-Vigor Cross breeding pens.

WARNING: If someone is selling you a really cheap chicken, there is a reason. Most likely they are old and not laying, but you may not get that reason from the seller.

White American Breese chickens --Dual, or Triple-Purpose?

EGGS: American Bresse chickens are excellent egg-layers. Some of them are likely to start laying eggs by week 18, and will lay close to an egg a day through spring, summer, and autumn. Many American Bresse chickens lay 250 eggs per year, or more.

MEAT: American Bresse chickens are also very fast growing meat birds. They grow fast and early, faster than the usual dual purpose breeds such as Rhode Island Red or Plymouth Rock. As heritage birds, they will reproduce true to the breed year after year, unlike Cornish Cross hybrids, the typical "meat" bird and grocery store chicken.

FLAVOR: Additionally, American Bresse have the same unique meat quality and intense flavor that French Bresse chickens are known for. They are described as the "most delicious chicken in the world" due to the fat-marbled meat sought after by renowned chefs. They certainly command a royal price in French markets.

Given their 500-year history in France, who's to say there isn't also a genetic component that influences the exquisite "Bresse" flavor to the poultry??

It is hard to keep secret a breed this cool and useful!

American Bresse chickens are a striking red, white and blue.

Roosters have large, bright red single combs and wattles contrasting sharply with their all-white feathers. The legs provide the blue, ranging in color from quite bluish to a darker steel gray.

Those first French chicken farmers may have been quite patriotic. Whether by accident or by design, Bresse chicken coloration is now proudly said to represent the blue, white, and red of the French flag.

Interesting for American Bresse breeders is that the United States flag is, very conveniently, also red, white and blue.
